About the Project

The "SMARTY" (Smart-Freight-Mobility) project focuses on developing an organizational and logistics model, as well as a business model for operating a sharing prototype platform for freight wagons. This platform will offer high-performance round timber wagons, allowing customers to respond more flexibly to demand fluctuations than would be possible with long-term lease contracts. The available resources of rolling stock can thus be used more efficiently. Specifically, this means that collected telematics data will be integrated into IT systems, enabling optimal planning and utilization of logistics processes and automation of business processes.
