Inter-/Multimodality
Intermodality and multimodality describe advanced transport concepts in which goods are moved using various modes of transport such as rail, road, and inland waterways.
Intermodality and multimodality describe advanced transport concepts in which goods are moved using various modes of transport such as rail, road, and inland waterways.
Intermodality is characterized by the transfer of the loading unit (e.g., container, swap body) without handling the actual goods. Multimodality involves using different transport modes under a single transport contract. We develop solutions that enable efficient transshipment, seamless network integration, and the selection of the optimal transport mode mix while considering cost, time, and environmental factors.
