Technical University of Leoben
The Chair of Industrial Logistics was established in 2002 under the umbrella of the Department of Economic and Business Sciences, making it one of the newer chairs at Montanuniversität Leoben. Within the context of the raw materials cycle, which is reflected in all degree programs at the university, industrial logistics represents an interdisciplinary field that connects the individual disciplines and ensures effective and efficient material flows. Industrial logistics is strongly oriented toward the core competencies and strengths of Montanuniversität Leoben, as well as toward relevant industries and content areas.
Collaboration with other academic programs at the university enables the inclusion of educational content that cannot typically be offered in purely business-oriented courses. Examples include automation technology, materials handling, mechanical engineering, and computer science. Thus, Montanuniversität Leoben offers a solid engineering education in the field of industrial logistics at a renowned technical university, with degrees awarded as Bachelor of Science or Diplomingenieur.
The Chair actively seeks cooperation with universities both in Austria and abroad. Current projects are being conducted with institutions in Magdeburg (Germany), Barcelona (Spain), Bologna, Bolzano (Italy), Riga (Latvia), Linköping (Sweden), Ibagué (Colombia), Kharkiv (Ukraine), Košice (Slovakia), Chiang Mai (Thailand), India, and Worcester (USA). An expansion of internationalization is planned.
